Atuação na Graduação

The Biomedical Engineering Program of COPPE / UFRJ does not have Undergraduate course, however, PEB’s professors have regularly lectured at the Automation and Engineering, Electric Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Computer Sciences courses, collaborating with those departments. From 2001 onwards, PEB has also taught some disciplines in the undergraduate course in Medical Physics, also coordinating the course and offering new topics. PEB has also activities in the Undergraduate course of the Mechanical Engineering Department of EE/ UFRJ (Acoustic Engineering and Biomechanics). Currently COPPE and PEB accept that undergraduate students attend some graduation disciplines, shortening the time necessary to obtain the Master’s degree.

Scientific Initiation and Other Activities

Undergraduate students develop Scientific Initiation, End-of-Course, Integrated and Extension projects in different PEB laboratories. If you are interested, contact some member from the publishing committee or any other professor to be acquainted with PEB. Get to know our fields of concentration and discover that you can join us. There are always opportunities for interested students, mainly from the Engineering and Exact Sciences areas.

There are different ways of obtaining a Scientific Initiation Scholarship. In all of them, the advisor must submit a project and compete for the available fellowships. This can be done directly with the funding agencies or through UFRJ, but there will always be a competition and a schedule to be followed, including for requiring the scholarships. It is worth talking to the advisor beforehand. If you are not certain, start working without payment and when you are sure you are doing the right thing, invest your time in requiring a fellowship. Do not forget, the success of a Scientific Initiation depends on your interest and dedication, so work only with what you like!
